Ultrasounds

Ultrasound is the important next step after obtaining a positive pregnancy test. This is a simple & painless procedure using sound waves to get an overall picture of your pregnancy.

About Ultrasounds

We hope to provide your ultrasound during your 1st (consultation) appointment; we follow criteria established by our Medical Director and will schedule your ultrasound based on this.

Feel free to work with our receptionist to find out the best place for you to receive pregnancy & ultrasound services. Walk-ins are always welcome at our clinic & mobile unit.

How Ultrasounds Work

Ultrasounds verify your pregnancy and determine if your baby is safely located inside your uterus. If you are considering abortion, an ultrasound is needed to determine the stage of your pregnancy, identify fetal viability, & to rule out ectopic pregnancy. Taking the abortion pill without an ultrasound done to rule out ectopic pregnancy is not safe.

Ultrasounds Facts

  • Do I Have an Ectopic Pregnancy? An ultrasound will determine if your pregnancy is safe. If the fertilized egg is possibly in a fallopian tube (meaning it is an ectopic pregnancy), you will need to seek emergency medical attention. If you exhibit signs of an ectopic pregnancy, you will be referred for immediate medical attention.
  • How Far Along Am I? If you’re wondering when you might have gotten pregnant or can’t remember when your last period was, an ultrasound will give you an accurate measurement of the age of your pregnancy. If you’re considering abortion, it’s important to know how many weeks pregnant you are. This will determine what abortion methods are available to you.
  • Will I Have a Natural Miscarriage? If you’re pregnant and considering abortion, an ultrasound can help determine if your pregnancy is viable (healthy) or at risk for a natural miscarriage. As many as 25% of all pregnancies will naturally miscarry.
